Memoir · autobiography First published 2008 Mandrake of Oxford

Autobiography · ghostwritten Originally 1976 Star Books

The earlier of the two autobiographical books, written closer to the events themselves and ghostwritten. Out of print as a first edition; second-hand copies circulate.

Read alongside Fire Child, it gives two different vantage points on the same decade.

Other writings live in the diary.

Maxine's shorter pieces, reflections, history, occasional essays, are kept in the diary on this site rather than between covers. They are added to as new pieces arrive.
